Our team is comprised of experienced basketball coaches and youth mentors to combine both the physical and mental building blocks for our athletes' accelerated advancement

Gideon Balabyekkubo

Youth Coach

Coach Gideon has maintained a passion for playing basketball for 15+ years. He has developed a vast knowledge of training systems to help build up skills and abilities for young aspiring basketball players. Helped start Bordertown Basketball in Ontario which was a successful grass roots program that is still growing and competing today.

Tony Kalsek

Coach & Mentor

Tony's career focus has been working with youth for 10 years within Surrey schools. Coach Tony's mentorship skills along with the education on fundamentals of basketball are the perfect blend for our U9-U12 groups . Not only teaching youth basic basketballball skills but the meaning of teamwork and discipline.

Moses Balabyekkubo

Program Lead & Coach

Known for his passion for player development, discipline, and mentorship, Coach Moses continues to shape the next generation of basketball players through Whalley Baller Club.

Coach Moses began gaining coaching experience as an assistant coach for the Red Raiders in 2014, then returned as head coach.

In 2016 he founded Bordertown Basketball, based in Ontario.

His coaching resumè expanded at the professional level when he served as an assistant coach for the Niagara River Lions during the 2017/2018 season adding valuable experience working with high-level athletes and competitive systems.

Through his training, numerous athletes have advanced to play in prestigious basketball conferences including the OSBA, NCAA, and CIS.

WHALLEY BALLER CLUB

OUR HISTORY

Founded in 2025, our directors wanted to begin a league within a league of its own.

Our team, having experienced financial struggles at home throughout school, made activities difficult to access. We wanted to ensure that all youth have a league available to them no matter the situation.

We know the importance of youth being able to let their personalities shine. Encouraging young adults to express themselves while participating in skill clinics and games paves the way for a disciplined, confident entrance to adulthood.
